We are a team of environmental experts with more than 20 years of experience both in Lithuania and abroad. Our strategic priorities are providing high quality analytical and consulting services in the environmental field.

The Center for Environmental Policy is a non-profit organisation which implements applied research projects and provides analytical, consulting and project management services to utilities, businesses and government institutions.

The Center for Environmental Policy was founded in 1997 by three environmental economists on the basis of the former assistance to Lithuania project of the Harvard Institute for International Development.  


The key areas of our expertise include:

  • environmental economics,
  • institutional capacity building,
  • training and education,
  • preparation and assessment of strategic documents,
  • environmental law,
  • development of Terms of Reference for environmental projects,
  • preparation of environmental documents for businesses.

Over almost 20 years, we have implemented more than 200 projects and have accumulated extensive experience in a wide range of environmental areas, such as integrated water resources management, climate change assessment, solid waste management, chemicals and air quality management.

In addition to the activities in Lithuania, the experts of the Center for Environmental Policy have been actively involved in a number of projects abroad. Together with our foreign partners, we have successfully implemented projects in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Macedonia, Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
